Even while Co-operative organizations have the potential to improve the agriculture industry, many farmers still struggle to earn a consistent and higher income. Poor administration, a lack of transparency, and a lack of funding are common problems for Co-operative groups. Due to a lack of awareness and education, many farmers are not aware of the full advantages of joining a Co-operative. Farmers' productivity is weakened by inefficiencies in the distribution of agricultural inputs and financing availability. Insufficient market connectivity via Co-operatives results in ongoing dependence on intermediaries and abuse. Co-operatives continue to play an underused role in income security and price stabilization. The objective of the study is to analyse the role of Co-operative Societies in enhancing farmer income with special reference to Salem. The sample of the study is 120. Descriptive research method and convenience sampling method has been adopted in the study. Simple percentage analysis, chi square and correlation analysis has been used to reach the findings of the study. It is found that the majority (35.8%) of the respondents said that excellent towards Co-operative societies help in finding better markets for agricultural produce and the majority (43.3%) of the respondents are neither agree nor disagree towards Co-operatives help in obtaining modern farming equipment at subsidized rates. It is suggested that to guarantee that farmers receive higher returns, Co-operative societies must keep fortifying their ties with larger markets. They must work with agricultural organizations to make modern farming equipment affordable. It is concluded that the effectiveness of Co- operative societies depends largely on their management practices, outreach capacity, and ability to adapt to farmers’ evolving needs. There is a pressing need for Co-operative societies to upgrade their services, adopt technology-driven solutions, and ensure transparency in operations to maximize their impact.
